Ingredients of Dark chocolate cake
- You need 3 of eggs.
- You need 1 cup of all purpose flour.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of baking powder.
- You need 5 tbsp of dutch possessed cocoa powder.
- Prepare 7 tbsp of Milk.
- It’s 1 cup of oil.
- Prepare 1 cup of castor sugar(superfine).
- Prepare 1 tsp of chocolate essence.
- Prepare 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
- It’s 2 drops of lemon juice.
- Prepare of Chocolate ganache.
- Prepare 150 g of dark chocolate.
- Prepare 1 cup of heavy cream.
This special ingredient is called "Buttermilk." Place first layer of cake on cake plate. Spread about ½ cup of frosting on top in an even layer. Add second layer of cake and add frosting on top in an even layer. Add final layer of cake on top and frost the outside of the cake.
Dark chocolate cake step by step
- Using beater,beat egg whites until soft peaks then add yolks one by one then add sugar and beat for more 2-3 minutes…..
- Add oil, milk and both essences and beat for further 2 minutes….
- In a separate bowl mix flour,cocoa powder and baking powder…..
- Add this dry ingredients to the mixture and beat for 2 minutes until the batter is ready…(Tip:Do not beat more after mixing dry ingredients).
- Bake for 45 minutes…..
- Use toothpick or cake tester to check either sponge is ready or not….
- If tester comes out clear then put the cake sponge on turnable or plate(as per availability) and decorate it with chocolate ganache…..
- For chocolate ganache,melt chocolate on a double boiler or in a microwave(for 2 minutes) then add cream and mix thoroughly and decorate ur cake…..
Finish off with chocolate curls or other decoration, and set in a fridge for a few hours before serving. Mix the chocolate into the hot coffee in a medium bowl and stir.
