  3. Prepare 1/4 cup of cold water.

  5. Prepare 1 cup of self rising cake flour.
  6. Prepare 1 tsp of baking powder (omit if using self-rising cake flour).
  7. You need 1 of any flavor jam– not jelly.
  8. You need 1 of powdered sugar.

Jelly Roll instructions

  1. preheat oven to 375.
  2. spray cookie sheet with Pam and cover with wax paper.
  3. seperate eggs into 2 bowls.
  4. beat egg whites till stiff.
  5. combine sugar, water, vanilla, and egg yolk and beat till all sugar is disolved.
  6. add 1 cp unsifted cake flour and beat well.
  7. fold beaten egg whites into batter then pour into cookie sheet.
  8. bake 18 minutes on high rack.
  9. immediately lay cake on clean towel and pull off wax paper.
  10. cover cake with jam.
  11. roll cake with towel around it.
  12. set for a few minutes.
  13. remove towel and place on dish.
  14. sprinkle with powdered sugar.
