Ingredients of Margaret's Pound Cake

  1. It’s 5 of eggs.
  2. It’s 1 cup of Milk.
  3. Prepare 1/2 cup of Shortening.
  4. It’s 2 stick of Butter softened.
  5. Prepare 3 cup of All Purpose Flour.
  6. Prepare 3 cup of Sugar.
  7. Prepare 1 dash of of salt.
  8. It’s 2 tbsp of Vanilla extract.
  9. You need 1/2 tsp of Baking Powder.

Margaret's Pound Cake instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325..
  2. Cream the butter, shortening and sugar.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Add vanilla extract. ( You can use any extract flavor you like. I've used lemon and almond and they taste great!).
  5. In a separate bowl combine the flour, salt and baking powder, mix well.
  6. Alternately with the milk, add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture, and mix well after each addition.
  7. Pour into a greased and floured bundt or tube pan and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
